L’Art Moderne Galerie has been focusing on three-dimensional metallurgic art for decades, presenting refined masterpieces of 20th-century Grand Art, created through both traditional and contemporary sculptural and silversmithing techniques. These works are conceived either as pièces uniques or produced in very limited editions (design works).
The gallery’s curated collections primarily include large decorative wall plates, opulent caskets, mural works of art and decorative trays, while also featuring other distinguished interior objects such as statuettes, vases, as well as sculptures and selected paintings. Bronze, copper and silver are the principal materials used, complemented in certain works by fire enamel.
L’Art Moderne Galerie represents exceptional works by outstanding artists who embody the zenith of modern Hungarian sculpture and silversmithing, including Margit Tevan, Sándor Móga, László Szlávics (Senior), József Pölöskei, Sándor Légrády and Lajos Pál, all active during the 20th century.
The artistic trajectory of each represented master is distinctive, as they pursued parallel careers in both sculpture and silversmithing throughout their active decades, with some later transitioning toward painting at the culmination of their prolific artistic lives.
The gallery is based in the heart of Budapest and is also present periodically in France and Monaco, either for major international art events or for bespoke private art-business occasions. Through formal collaborations with partner galleries in Spain and France, selected masterpieces are regularly presented and exhibited at art fairs in Italy and the United States.

Universe of Metallurgy
We believe that masterpieces created in metal embody exceptional value, where dedication, endurance and artistic talent guide the creator toward mastery, the discovery of a personal visual language, and the creation of a lasting cultural heritage.
The dialogue with the audience plays an equally important role: feedback from collectors and connoisseurs continuously influences our curatorial vision and the future direction of our offerings. Our mission is to respond to refined aesthetic sensibilities while simultaneously supporting authentic personal artistic expression.
To this end, we present works realized through a synthesis of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary technologies, giving form to raw material through demanding processes: exposing metal to extreme temperatures during casting after fusion; soldering or brazing individual elements under concentrated flame; shaping metal into its envisioned form; and finally coating the finished work with pure silver through galvanization.
Each resulting piece is a unique, hand-crafted object, reflecting and interpreting a fragment of reality through material and form.
We offer contemporary works of art to our visitors, created for collectors who value authenticity, craftsmanship and artistic depth.
WORKS FORMED BY HUMAN HAND
Modern consumer society increasingly demands mass production across nearly all segments of the product market.
We are convinced that the realm of art is — and will always remain — fundamentally different.
Art must be created, shaped and completed by the human hand.
Each work carries the imprint of its creator: thoughts, moments of joy or sorrow, concerns — even the rhythm of the artist’s breath.
We offer this experience.
It is intimate.
It is authentic.
It is uplifting.
